NAVARATRI YOGA RETREAT OCTOBER 2023

10 days of the Goddess

SOUTH INDIA - OCEAN, MOUNTAINS, CITY
Welcome to South India,
October 15 -25, 2023

Together with Lana Clementson from Flow Collective Yoga Bulli we invite you to join us on the retreat of a lifetime to the golden beaches, fresh green mountains, and bustling city scape of Southern India.

Our retreat has been timed to fall over the wonderful festival of Navaratri, one of Hindu India's biggest celebrations of the year. Navaratri is the story of the Goddess. In particular the celebration of the 9 avatars of Goddess Durga and her defeat over the evil demon Mahishasura. Mahishasura, half buffalo and half man, represents our ego driven need for survival over all else. Mahishasura was so powerful and evil he conquered both heaven and earth, however it was the Goddess Durga, who after 9 nights of battle, eventually slayed him on the 10th day.

Navaratri is celebrated with music, dance, ritual, ceremony, food and colour and India comes alive with tradition and festivity.

We will dive deeply into this wonderful festival, and with the help of a local guide, daily yoga practice, philosophy talks, creative activities and sightseeing Navaratri will come alive in our hearts and spirits.
The retreat includes 10 lights accommodation in 3 locations: beach, city, and mountains, in 3-5 star accommodation. It includes 2 meals per day - breakfast and dinner, daily yoga practices, creative activities, excursions, friendship and community, transfers, and transport.

What's not included is flights, visas, extra food or shopping expenses! (and boy oh boy will there be shopping!!!!)

The retreat starts in the Southern Indian city of Kochi (airport pickup from Kochi airport) with sightseeing and shopping, travels to the mountain town of Kollum where we enjoy tea plantations and a hike up 2000mtrs, we then travel to the backwaters of Kerala on a peaceful river boat, and lastly we stay in Kovalam- enjoying the beach and even more shopping!!

Our retreat will offer plenty of free time and everything is optional.

You can choose to stay in a twin share or in a single room for a little extra. At this stage, all that's required is a deposit of $500 to secure your spot - what are you waiting for??!!!

For more details, reach out to either myself or Lana or follow the booking link below:

Becci Anderson

Becci has taught various styles of yoga. Her foundation training was in Japanese Okido yoga, and she has also trained with Jimmy Barkan, Power Living, Bliss Baby Yoga, FireShaper Hot Yoga, Inferno Hot Pilates, Shiva Rae, and with Barre Body in mat pilates and barre. "Since yoga became part of my life I have evolved into a more peaceful, content, curious, playful, grateful and happier me, and as a teacher I hope more than anything to help my students do the same. The honesty, intuition, and strength we bring to our mats eventually transpires to fill our lives, and for me there is nothing more beautiful than being true to one’s self. Yoga is my go to place, my island in a busy sea”

As a naturopath, nutritionist, and teacher and student of yoga, Becci believes in bringing her diverse skills into her classes. “I believe a well-rounded yoga practice helps to emulate a well-rounded individual… there is a yoga style for everybody! I hope to share my love and passion for yoga with everyone, see you on your mat very soon!”

RETREAT LOCATION, FACTS & PRICE

Kerala, a state on India's tropical Malabar Coast, has nearly 600km of Arabian Sea Shore line. It's known for its palm-lined beaches and backwaters, a network of canals. Inland are the Western Ghats, mountains whose slopes support tea, coffee and spice plantations as well as wildlife. National parks like Eravikulam and Periyar, plus Wayanad and other sanctuaries, are home to elephants, langur monkeys and tigers.

Just setting foot on this swath of soul-quenching, palm-shaded green will slow your sub continental stride to a blissed-out amble. Kerala is the world away from the frenzy of elsewhere as if India had passed through the Looking Glass and become an altogether more laid-back place.
